In 2001, Erica Coulston's life took an unexpected turn when she sustained a C6/7 spinal cord injury from a car accident. She was just 23 years old, and the future seemed daunting. The traditional rehabilitation programs she encountered focused more on her limitations than her potential, leaving her feeling frustrated and constrained.

After completing both inpatient and outpatient therapy, Erica wasn't ready to settle. She had bigger dreams and a fierce determination to push beyond the boundaries set by her diagnosis. Her journey to find recovery-based programs took her from San Diego to Switzerland, then Portugal, and finally back home to Detroit...

Fast forward to present day, Erica and her family own and operate Walk The Line. There is a dedicated team of professional therapists to make Walk the Line the place of hope, innovation, and recovery that Erica envisioned. Our facility boasts nearly 75 pieces of cutting-edge therapy equipment and is firmly grounded in evidence-based treatments for neuromuscular and motor recovery. We have successfully achieved over 2,000 client-centered goals and provided intensive therapy programs to more than 400 clients.

Mission:
​Walk The Line Recovery Therapy (WTL) provides activity based physical and occupational therapy programs with well-defined treatment protocols designed to facilitate recovery of function following a neurological injury or condition change. WTL is committed to creating innovative and effective therapy programs that are customized to each client’s needs and goals. WTL is respectful and understands that each individual’s view of recovery is unique and that can change over time. Our center of recovery encompasses programs that can be separate or coordinated for clients allowing them to benefit from the environment and is feedback appropriate for their person-centered goals.
