Millie Jones was appointed Vice President of Operations of Walk The Line Recovery Therapy, September 2021.  In her new role, she will be overseeing the daily operations and client services at the center.  Walk The Line Recovery Therapy is a nationally recognized rehabilitation system of care that is renowned for the treatment of severely injured clients, since 2007.

 

Millie is a graduate of Wayne State University and Walsh College.  She also holds leadership certifications from the University of Michigan and is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator.  Her career highlights include being recognized as an expert in the field of burns and upper extremity trauma rehabilitation with multiple-authored papers and adjunct faculty at the School Allied Health Professions, Wayne State University.  

 

Her leadership roles have included being the Chief of Operations for an Orthopedic Hospital and a community hospital, Executive Administrator for a rehabilitation organization with multiple sites, and operations specialist for numerous nursing homes in Southeastern Michigan.    Her expertise lies with operations, governmental requirements, and accreditation of acute and post-acute systems of care.  She is passionate about the quality of care of the services that she oversees. Her focus is always on meeting the needs of every patient, family, client, and referral source, every visit.  

 

Millie is very involved in the community and has held multiple board positions in local organizations, including the Great Detroit Area Health Council and the Southern Wayne County Chamber of Commerce.  She was part of the initiating community board of directors for the Families Against Narcotics, Downriver.

Jenna received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Michigan State and her graduate OT degree program from the University of Alabama – Birmingham. She loves playing and watching volleyball, basketball, and soccer. She also enjoys baking sweet treats and soaking up the sun while reading a good thriller. She is expanding her knowledge on low vision or visual deficits to incorporate into her practice with various populations.

Gabriel graduated from Baker College of Allen Park with an Associates of Applied Science degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in December of 2019. He received a Certificate of Appreciation for his role as a Student Ambassador and was also a student member of the Call for Unity Diversity Council. Before pursuing a career in Occupational Therapy, he worked as an ABA behavioral technician to understand and improve the daily lives of children diagnosed with ASD, and in his free time, he continues to explore the realm of behavioral psychology. He firmly believes in a person-centered approach to recovery and is proud to work alongside such a supportive community here at Walk The Line. He is CPR and AED certified.

Jody graduated from the University of Michigan in 2002 with a BS in Movement Science. She continued to further her education at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA where she received her doctorate in physical therapy in 2005. Jody then spent the next 6.5 years at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD working in both outpatient and inpatient settings. At JHH, she was able to work with a mixture of clients across the age spectrum with varying rehabilitation needs. Her main focus was with the pediatric population and working with people having pelvic floor dysfunctions. Jody is excited to have joined Walk The Line to collaborate with other professionals to help the clients at Walk The Line reach their goals for recovery. Jody joined Walk The Line in 2012. She is CPR and First Aid Certified. Her favorite color is purple.

Neuro Physical Therapy

Shruti Joshi

Shruti Joshi

PT, MHS, CBIS, C-LSVT Big

Shruti Joshi graduated in 2007 from CMF’s College of Physical Therapy in India with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. During a clinical rotation at a renowned Adult Neuro-Rehabilitation Center in Pune, India, Shruti had the opportunity to work with young adults with stroke, spinal cord injury, and post-operative spinal level stem-cell surgery. She then accepted a position as a pediatric Physical Therapist at the New Horizons Child Development Center in Mumbai, India. With a keen interest to continue exploring the field of neurological rehabilitation, Shruti then pursued and completed a Masters of Health Sciences degree at the University of Indianapolis with a clinical emphasis on neurological rehabilitation. While pursuing her graduate degree, she concurrently worked as a Physical Therapist in the Pontiac School District with students with cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, learning difficulties, and chronic spinal cord injuries. In every position she’s held, Shruti has believed in being passionate about helping people discover their abilities and continuously improve their quality of life. Shruti joined Walk The Line in 2011. She is CPR and First Aid Certified.

Matt Cox

 Matt received his B.S. in Allied Health Sciences from the University of Cincinnati in 2014 and followed up with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Dayton in 2017. During his tenure at the University of Dayton, Matt served as a biomechanics tutor and received awards for research he performed in as well as the award for his class for clinical excellence. Matt consistently works on increasing his knowledge in areas of biomechanics and neurology to incorporate into practice, as well as plans to perform research in related fields to increase the field of knowledge.

Briana Keller

Bri earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of Michigan – Flint in 2020. Bri serviced the underinsured and uninsured individuals in the Flint area as a Student Physical Therapist at U of M Flint’s pro-bono PT clinic “PTHeart”. One of Bri’s most rewarding experiences was working as a caregiver for an individual with a TBI while pursuing her Doctorate. Prior to starting the U of M DPT program, Bri attained her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy from Oakland University while also receiving a minor in Exercise Science. 

Bri discovered her passion for neuro while volunteering at “PTHeart” and seeing firsthand the positive impact physical therapy can have on individuals with neurological injury. This desire to have a positive impact is what lead Bri to work at Walk The Line. The strong family environment and community-driven atmosphere at Walk The Line works to bring out the best in both employees and clients. Bri knows that every day she goes into Walk The Line she is driven to be the best Physical Therapist she can be.

Lyndsey Crosbie

Lyndsey graduated from the University of Michigan, but after five years in the banking industry, she decided to return to school to become a physical therapist. She received her DPT from Wayne State University in 2019, completing multiple clinical rotations in neurological rehabilitation. While at Wayne State, she spent time researching clinical interventions for individuals with chronic stroke and published one paper on her research. She is an active advocate for the physical therapy profession both federally and at the state level, traveling to Washington D.C. annually to discuss issues relevant to PT with lawmakers. She is an RYT-200 certified yoga instructor. She enjoys spending free time with her young daughter and her cat Davy Crockett.

Kris graduated from the University of Toledo in 2011 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. His clinical rotations at the University of Toledo included the UT softball, football, and men’s basketball teams. He also spent a semester at the University of Toledo Medical Center’s physical therapy clinic, assisting with orthopedic and neurologic injuries and conditions. Kris is CPR/AED certified and a member of NATA. He is looking forward to helping the clients at Walk The Line achieve any and every goal they may have throughout their recovery.

Katrina Rader

Katrina graduated from Baker College of Allen Park with an Associate of Applied Science degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant in June of 2015. She first came to Walk The Line to complete a clinical internship as a student and officially joined the Walk the Line team in July of 2015. Before coming to Walk The Line she also completed a full-time clinical rotation at Oakwood Hospital in Taylor, MI where she was able to experience working with people during the early stages of SCI and TBI recovery. Katrina is eager and enthusiastic about utilizing advanced and creative techniques in the journey to recovery for so many individuals. Katrina is an active member of the APTA and she is also CPR and First Aid certified.

Jennifer Miller

Jennifer received her bachelor’s of science in Movement Science from Grand Valley State University. Upon graduating, Jennifer became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and began working as a Sports Performance Coach and later a Sports Performance Director. Jennifer has trained several athletes at all levels, from youth to elite athletes, including Olympic Gold Medalists Charlie White and Meryl Davis, World Champions Evan Bates and Madison Chock, Olympic Bronze medalist Gracie Gold, and professional beach volleyball players. During her time as a Sports Performance Director, Jennifer became passionate about inclusion within athletics and exercise, specifically with children and young adults on the Autism Spectrum. Jennifer is excited to bring her philosophy of “education through exercise” to Walk the Line to help clients gain strength, self-confidence, and improved quality of life. Jennifer came to Walk the Line in April of 2016. She is CPR and First Aid Certified.

Craig Potthast

Craig graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2014 with a B.S. in Athletic Training and has been a BOC certified Athletic Trainer since 2014. While completing his undergraduate degree, Craig participated in many extracurricular internships allowing him to work with high school teams, doctors’ offices, physical therapy clinics as well as the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs. Since then his experience comes from collegiate level sports working with football, basketball, cross country, track and field, golf, volleyball, and tennis teams. His professional experience comes from Northern Kentucky University as well as Western Kentucky University. Craig enjoys working in a client and team-centered environment where everyone collaborates to provide the best care to help clients achieve their goals. Craig is CPR/First Aid Certified.

Tiffany graduated from South University with an Associate/s Degree in Applied Science in 2014. From there, she began her career in subacute care, moving to a more diverse setting of being the sole PTA in outpatient rehab, at a location where she was also given the opportunity to work with short and long-term care patients. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, hiking, baking and decorating cakes, playing board and card games, and trying new food! She loves working at Walk The Line because she enjoys the people she works with, the team she is part of, and the difference she hopes to make in their lives for the better!

Katie Shoemaker

Katie graduated from Michigan State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.  She furthered her education at Baker College of Flint with an Associate of Applied Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2014.  Katie spent the next seven years at Beaumont Hospital of Royal Oak, MI working in both acute care and inpatient settings, with a primary focus in acute Neurology and Oncology.  Katie joined Walk the Line in 2020 and is excited to be a part of a collaborative team providing extraordinary care to reach client’s goals.  She is a Certified Clinical Instructor, as well as CPR and First Aid Certified.

Nicole graduated from Delta College in 2008 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science – Physical Therapist Assistant and has worked in acute care facilities or outpatient Neuro since. Growing up and still to this day she enjoys taking dance classes and spending time outdoors either hiking or enjoying the night sky. She loves working at WTL with seeing the advancements the clients make, both little and big, during the therapy sessions, and the amazing teamwork with her coworkers.

Julia Palombo

Julia graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science with an emphasis in health-fitness instruction and a minor in psychology; then in 2020 graduated from Macomb Community College’s physical therapy assisting program and obtained her license through the state of Michigan. Her long educational journey leads to her joining the Walk The Line family as her first job as a PTA. Prior to this, she was a gymnastics instructor and worked with athletes in preparation for collegiate teams. To this day, her training styles and techniques reflect her past as a gymnast as well as a competitive cheerleader. She enjoys working at Walk The Line because every client here inspires her to live life fearlessly and to always strive to improve herself. She feels so honored to work with this amazing group of individuals and within such a caring and diverse team.

Emily is a Licensed PTA and registered yoga teacher. She has her Associate’s in Applied Science from Macomb Community College and Bachelor’s of Art from Wayne State University. Before PTA school, she worked in marketing for a yoga company where she fell in love with movement. She loves the positivity and the focus our clients and trainers bring each day to Walk the Line – she feels this is a very special place!

Connor Volkart

Connor Volkart

M.S. LAT, ATC

Connor attended the University of Missouri where he graduated with a B.S. in Athletic Training in 2017. He then attended the University of Central Missouri and earned an M.S. in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Kinesiology in 2019. He became a Certified Athletic Trainer in 2019 and moved to Michigan shortly after. His clinical experience at the University of Missouri includes time with several different teams, including football, softball, women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s track and field. During his time at the University of Central Missouri, he participated in an internship with the school’s football team under the direct supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer. At Walk The Line, he enjoys the team approach, collaboration among staff, and energetic environment created to provide optimal care to our clients.

Alex spent 2015-2018 at Grand Valley State for his bachelor’s degree from their Athletic Training program. In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors with those close to him whether it’s playing sports such as soccer or basketball or being on the water in the summertime. He loves Walk The Line because he enjoys helping clients toward their goals, and the positive attitudes and mindsets that he sees each day here at Walk The Line are inspiring him.
